Never Forget

After eight years, I am still just as bitter mad as I was on September 11th 2001. In fact it seems to get worse every year.

The United States Military and our allies have been profoundly successful in overwhelmingly beating back the very force that killed 3,000 of our citizens. However, I believe that as civilians, our efforts and resolve for freedom have proved to be a devastating failure. And now today, we are content as ground zero remains a giant hole in the ground.

Even worse, we kowtow to China and others who tell us that referring to the new project as a "Freedom Tower" would offend the global community. I worry more about offending the victims and heroes who lost their life in this war on terror.

I'm totally with you about the increase in rage each year. I went to work on 9/11 and wore an American Flag pin on my tie. I was the only pilot I saw wearing one! Maybe I'm a bit critical but I thought our pilots would be a little for forthright in displaying some kind of remembrance of that tragic day. Not only was I the only one wearing a flag, nobody even mentioned the fact that I was wearing one or that it was 9/11. The only thing I did see on our company forums was a tribute video that someone did on Youtube that was quite good.

We need to not shy away about our feelings on this day. It needs to be remembered and respect should be given to those that risked and LOST their lives to save others. We have done a great job over there, but I think we still need to do more and hunt down Bin Laden and make him pay like Sadam did.

I for one will never take that day lightly or let it just pass by. My blood boils every time I watch the footage. Sorry this comment ended up being longer than your post.
