The Entertainer

Some people follow and root for the "under-dog". I don't. And I would argue that if we are honest with ourselves, we will admit that who we really seek after is "the best". We are drawn to the best. We admire the talent and everything the best has gone through to be the best.
.
Michael Jackson was the best. He was born with talent but this show was about a lifetime of dedication and a competitive soul. In a world full of singers and dancers a dime a dozen, nobody did it like he did it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xKBLxh3u0tM
.
He is probably the most over analyzed person in the world. But what people forget is that he was primarily an entertainer. The longest performing entertainer in the world-from 5 years old to 50. It's all he knew and all he was known for.
.
The biggest tragedy is that we never got to see his last performance. I bet it would have been good. People at the rehearsals for his up coming show said, "at 50 years old he was out lasting and out working 20 year old dancers". Working out six hours a day, after 45 years this type of physical demand must have taken its tole. I think he was obsessed with entertaining us one last time. This time he was determined to make it his best. He just couldn't deal with the fact that his body couldn't handle it anymore.
.
A quick note about his financial situation, if you think the estate is worthless or broke, I feel bad for your small understanding commerce and marketing. Michael's official comeback may not have panned out but hes coming back nonetheless and his royalties and revenues will be bigger than ever. No more distractions, just the music. In a way he has finally outdone himself.
.
Entertainment in its original form was something reserved for kings and pharaohs. When the entertainer could no longer entertain his master, he was put to death. Their life was no longer of value. Michael was our entertainer and and when he couldn't entertain us anymore he essentially killed himself trying to give us one last show.
